The highly-rated Scot has been the subject of much interest the past while due to the mature nature of his performances in midfield for the Steelmen and some big moments in big games too.

Lennon Miller played brilliantly against Celtic at Fir Park a while back and that day he was superb in the engine room, causing the Hoops all sorts of problems on that afternoon. In truth, the youngster did not look out of place mixing it with Celtic captain Callum McGregor and some of his teammates, and now the question remains: where will he end up?

No doubt there will be a spate of clubs interested in procuring the 18-year-old’s talents and giving him the platform to perform at a higher level than Motherwell, no disrespect intended.

He’s one that has the potential to be the next big thing in Scottish football, much like his countryman John McGinn was, when he broke into the St Mirren team before moving onto Hibs and then eventually Aston Villa, where he remains to this day.

Brendan Rodgers himself is an admirer of the player and one wonders if this bid from the Serie A side will prompt the Irishman into making a play for the son of former Aberdeen striker Lee? The move would have to be right for all involved though, and that is an issue that would need resolved quickly as many view Celtic Park as being a stunt to the development of younger players with no clear pathway into that first team.

Ball has started rolling on Miller’s move from Motherwell

However, the possibility of buying young Miller and loaning him back to Motherwell or indeed another Scottish Premiership club has been touted. Whether or not that is something that would be agreeable to Lennon and his old man would be up for discussion if that deal ever came to fruition. Nonetheless, the ball has started rolling for the ‘Well man and it’s one to keep an eye on this month for sure.
