Mateta's Milan move held up by Palace negotiations over Strand Larsen

AC Milan reportedly have the “framework” of a deal in place to sign Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, but the move is understood to be on hold while the Eagles seek a replacement for the Frenchman.

Sky Sports reports that a three-and-a-half-year deal worth £3 million a year, post-tax, is on the table from Milan for Mateta, who is keen on the move and is awaiting permission from Palace to fly to Italy for a medical.

The forward has not been included in Palace’s matchday squad for Sunday’s game against Nottingham Forest.

The broadcaster says everything is “basically agreed” but Palace must now make the final call to allow the deal to be finalised.

It comes as the Eagles negotiate add-ons of around £5m on top of a £45m transfer fee for Jorgen Strand Larsen, who was seen applauding Wolves fans following the Old Gold’s home loss to Bournemouth earlier today.

Arsenal, Liverpool, United tracking Diomande

Scouts from clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are understood to have been tracking RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.

The situation has left Bayern Munich “increasingly frustrated” at the possibility of entering a bidding war with Premier League sides, according to German outlet BILD.

Bayern are said to rate 19-year-old Diomande highly but consider the price being discussed - reportedly around €100 million (£86m) - “too high”.

ICYMI: Raheem Sterling in no rush to find new club

Raheem Sterling is in no rush to find a new club before Deadline Day.

The 31-year-old winger finally called time on his Chelsea career on Wednesday, parting ways with the club by mutual consent after spending the season toiling alone in the club’s so-called ‘bomb squad’.

Now a free agent, it is understood the player is open to offers from clubs in the Premier League and abroad as he looks to get his career back on track.

Standard Sport understands that Tottenham do not hold an interest in making Sterling an offer, despite widespread reports claiming the north London club considered him as an option for injury cover.

It remains to be seen where Sterling will land, though other reports from Sky Sports emerged on Thursday claiming as many as seven Champions League teams are interested in a move.

Atletico Madrid reach Lookman agreement - what about Alvarez?

Atletico Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement with Atalanta to sign Ademola Lookman.

The English winger looked to be heading to Fenerbahce, according to reports this morning, but Sky’s Gianluca Di Marzio suggests the Spanish capital will be his next destination.

Lookman had a public falling out with Atalanta last summer, revealing that he had handed in a transfer request over “broken promises” and “poor treatment”.

He has since played for the Serie A club again after not getting the move he wanted in the previous window, but it now sounds like he could join Diego Simeone’s group, who are currently chasing perennial title rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid in La Liga.

Atleti let midfielder Conor Gallagher join Tottenham earlier this month, and their star forward Julian Alvarez has repeatedly been linked with a move to Arsenal (see post at 5.35pm GMT).

Might Lookman’s arrival accelerate, or at least increase the possibility of, that potential deal for the Gunners?
