Chelsea have told Manchester City that they have until 5pm today to submit a bid for midfielder Enzo Fernandez. The Blues have informed their Premier League rivals that they will need to sepnd £120m to sign the Argentina though City had hoped to negotiate on the price.

City, meanwhile, remain in talks with Barcelona over Rodri, who is available for £60m. The club have rejected two previous bids for the former Ballon d’Or winner but talks are ongoing. City are also interested in signing World Cup breakout star Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille while Savinho is moving closer to leaving the Etihad for Tottenham in a £65m deal though.

Mikel Arteta has said that Arsenal’s business is not done yet, with the Gunners receiving interest in Gabriel Martinelli from Galatasaray. The availability of Victor Osimhen has been raised in those talks, although Arsenal have also been linked with moves for Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola.

Barcola also leads Liverpool’s list of transfer targets and the Reds are in talks with PSG over a fee, though the European champions are demanding £145m to sell the winger. PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi did not rule out an exit for Barcola, however, saying: “We’re working calmly, we don’t talk too much. I can’t say whether he will leave or not. Today, he is a PSG player. We’ll see.”

Chelsea confirm Filip Jorgensen loan deal

Chelsea have confirmed the season-long loan of keeper Filip Jorgensen to sister club Strasbourg, in yet another move between the two sides.

The Dane’s opportunities have been limited in his two years at Stamford Bridge.

A club statement read: “Jorgensen was a key member of the Chelsea side that lifted the UEFA Conference League in May 2025, starting all but one game in the competition. The Denmark international became a Club World Cup winner later that summer.

“Jorgensen featured 12 times last season across four different competitions, playing his part as we reached the semi-finals of both domestic cups.

“We look forward to supporting Filip throughout his time in France.”

Ferran Torres close to finalising PSG move

Spain star Ferran Torres is set to swap Barcelona for PSG, according to Fabrizio Romano.

He reports talks are in ‘final stages’ and that the winger is not scheduled to turn up for Barca training, with a deal expected to be finalised following PSG’s Super Cup victory over Aston Villa on Wednesday.

A deal in principle has been agreed by both clubs with a price of €50m (£42.7m).

Last season Torres scored 21 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions, providing three assists, and helped Barcelona win the La Liga title.

Chelsea and Man Utd turn down chance to sign Myles Lewis-Skelly

The Telegraph has reported both Chelsea and Man Utd have turned down moves for Arsenal teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly, who faces increased competition both in defence and midfield.

Lewis-Skelly is reportedly keen to fight for his place, while the Gunners value him in the region of £45m, which the Blues and Utd are not prepared to pay.

Liverpool need Bradley Barcola if they want to challenge for title

Michael Owen believes Liverpool’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola could be pivotal in how they perform in the title race.

“I do think Liverpool need more, but it looks like Barcola is the one they want and it will cost them a huge amount of money to get him in,” Owen told Metro.

“But if they can do that and add more depth, more quality, then they can really challenge for the title.

“Last season at Liverpool wasn’t great, the style of play wasn’t as good as it had been and they conceded far too many goals.

“But Slot leaving and Iraola replacing him means a new style of play. He brings a lot of excitement from the way he played at Bournemouth, but Liverpool are a much bigger club and the pressure mounts up now.”

Mikel Arteta wants to do more business

Mikel Arteta has said that Arsenal still have targets in the transfer window, but stressed there are “very few” players who can take the Gunners to the next level.

The Gunners have been linked with both Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola as they bid to add a marquee signing to their attack.

"I think for the margins to improve, there are very few players in the market that are available to do that and bring that to the club,” Arteta said.

He added: "There is more that we want to do because every time we have an opportunity to improve the squad and bring more quality and depth to the squad, we need to do that.”

Reijnders heading to Saudi Arabia

Manchester City are set to sell Tijjani Reijnders to Al Qadsiah after agreeing a £51m deal.

The midfielder has accepted personal terms with the Saudi Arabian club as he will leave the Etihad Stadium after just a year.

City, whose midfield overhaul is continuing, will make a profit on Reijnders, who cost £46.5m when he joined from AC Milan last summer.

And his departure will mean they have brought in around £100m in transfer fees this window, with Nathan Ake’s sale to Fenerbahce and James Trafford’s move to Leeds.

Spurs moving in the right direction with Savinho deal

Tottenham are moving in the right direction to get a deal done for Man City winger Savinho as they look to continue their squad overhaul under Roberto De Zerbi.

The Independent’s chief football writer Miguel Delaney understands that Spurs are getting closer to an agreement for £65m plus add-ons.

The Brazilian signed for Man City from French side Troyes for a little over £30m in the summer of 2024 and is still only 22 years old.

Spurs have already recruited Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka and Cole Ramsey in a busy, expensive summer of business so far, with Chelsea the only Premier League side to spend more in this window.

Luis Enrique refuses to be drawn on Bradley Barcola's future

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has refused to comment on Bradley Barcola’s potential summer switch to Liverpool.

The 23-year-old, who scored three goals for France at the World Cup, is back with the PSG squad for Wednesday’s Super Cup showdown against Europa League winners Aston Villa in Salzburg.

And when quizzed about Barcola’s future, Luis Enrique said: “I don’t know and I don’t want to speak about any player individually.

“Because it’s always dangerous when you are asking something positive or negative about a player. I stay focused on my team.”

Barcola only returned to Paris last Monday, along with PSG’s other French and Spanish players who were at the World Cup, but could still feature against Villa.
