Trent Alexander-Arnold finally breaks La Liga duck in Real Madrid vs Athletic Club | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold on Wednesday at last managed a long-awaited feat in the club’s colours.

This came by way of his very first La Liga assist.

Real Madrid are of course currently locked in action, in a meeting with Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic club.

Los Blancos headed into the fixture nothing short of desperate for a return to winning ways, after stuttering to a trio of successive league draws over recent weeks.

And inside the opening 10 minutes this evening, Xabi Alonso’s troops got well on their way towards as much.

Kylian Mbappé again proved himself the decisive figure, embarking on a wonderful run before lashing home a fine finish.

It was the aforementioned Alexander-Arnold, though, who was the creator in chief.

Picking the ball up from his berth at right-back, the England international did brilliantly to beat Nico Williams, before spraying a trademark pass the width of the pitch to the awaiting Mbappé.

And in the process, Alexander-Arnold broke his La Liga assist duck, for the first of what will no doubt be many in the colours of Real Madrid.
