Trincao, Mendy, Sarr - SEVEN super summer signings so far | OneFootball

The summer transfer window might’ve officially opened on Wednesday, but that hasn’t stopped clubs from being active in the market already.

So while other major deals continue to be negotiated, we take a look at some of the standout additions thus far.

Francisco Trincao - Al Ahli

After making the tough decision to move on from Riyad Mahrez after three wonderful seasons, Al Ahli hit the jackpot with the signing of 27-year-old Trincao fresh off featuring for Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Sporting CP winger was a wanted man right across Europe, reportedly including high-profile suitors such as Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Trincao brings with him goals and creativity, having provided 68 goal contributions across four seasons in Lisbon. No doubt he will provide fresh energy to Al Ahli as they look to finally break their 10-year RSL title drought.

Malang Sarr - NEOM Sports Club

The French infusion in Tabuk continues with the arrival of former France youth international Sarr. Formerly on the books of Chelsea, where he made eight appearances during the 2021-22 English Premier League season, the 27-year-old has spent the past few seasons back in his homeland.

Last season represented a standout for Lens, though, when they pushed Paris Saint-Germain all the way in Ligue 1. Interestingly, Sarr starred alongside RSL graduate Saud Abdulhamid.

Such was Sarr’s form that the centre-back apparently attracted interest from clubs in Spain, France and England, before joining the growing French contingent at NEOM SC.

Donovan Leon - Abha

Marking their return to the RSL, Abha have kicked off their recruitment drive in fine style with the signing of Leon from Ligue 1 side Auxerre.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper has been a regular starter across both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 during the past six seasons and, despite playing 22 of a possible 34 games last term, was one of the highest-ranked goalkeepers in the French top flight.

Indeed, Leon kept nine clean sheets to help Auxerre avoid relegation by just two points.

Alexandre Mendy - Al Faisaly

Like Abha, newly promoted Al Faisaly have also dipped into the French market with the acquisition of frontman Mendy from Ligue 2 side Montpellier.

Before his standout season for Montpellier, the forward spent five seasons with Caen, also in Ligue 2, winning the division's golden boot in 2023-24 with an impressive 22 goals.

A Guinea-Bissau international, Mendy’s experience and knowhow in the final third will be invaluable for Al Faisaly as they participate in the RSL for the first time since the 2021-22 season.

Sabri Dahal - Al Hilal

Last season’s runners-up have pounced on one of the league’s most exciting young talents, snapping up teenage sensation Dahal from Al Fayha after a breakout 2025-26.

Turning 18 in February, the winger finished the campaign with an impressive three goals and four assists, while he also missed part of the season because of national-team duty with Saudi Arabia's Under-17 side at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar. He even scored in the 3-2 win against New Zealand.

Justifiably, Dahal was nominated for the 2025-26 SPL Young Player of the Season, pipped to the prize by Al Kholood starlet Abdulaziz Al Elewa.

Hugo Moura - Al Fayha

While they lose Dahal, Al Fayha’s midfield has been bolstered by the arrival of experienced Brazilian Moura, from Vasco da Gama.

Emerging from the academy of Rio de Janeiro giants Flamengo, the defensive midfielder spent time at Flamengo, Coritiba and Athletico Paranaense, where he would play in the 2022 Copa Libertadores final under Brazil's World Cup-winning manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.

From there, Moura joined Vasco da Gama last year who, ironically, have just appointed former Al Fayha coach, Pedro Emanuel.

Coba da Costa - Al Kholood

Having unearthed Ramiro Enrique last season, Al Kholood hope they've found another diamond with 23-year-old winger Da Costa from La Liga side Getafe.

Of Bissau-Guinean descent, Da Costa worked his way through the lower tiers of Spanish football before getting his break with Getafe’s B side for the 2024-25 season.

He quickly impressed to earn a spot in the senior team, making his La Liga debut on December 1, 2024, with his first goal coming little more than a month later.

With Al Kholood owner Ben Harburg, who also owns Spanish side Cadiz, running a keen eye over the Spanish market, Da Costa is one to watch when the 2026-27 RSL kicks off next month.
