FC Bayern have been knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals after losing 1-1 to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday evening
After losing the first leg of the semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain 4-5, FC Bayern’s dream of winning the treble was shattered when they drew 1-1 with PSG in the second leg at home in the Allianz Arena

Bayern got off to a disastrous start to the game and were 1-0 down after just 180 seconds. Kvaratskhelia broke through on the left following a pinpoint pass and played in Dembélé with a precise delivery, who fired the ball into the Bayern goal with a powerful left-footed shot from five metres out
Vincent Kompany’s team took a few minutes to digest this setback, but increasingly took control of the game from the tenth minute onwards. FCB made their first dangerous appearance in front of the Parisian goal in the 15th minute: after a sharp cross from Diaz, Nuno Mendes blocked in front of Olise, who was ready to shoot
In the 27th minute, it was again the Frenchman who had a chance to score, but his shot from just under 14 meters went just over the goal
Things got really hectic four minutes later, when Neves handled the ball in his own penalty area as Vitinha attempted to clear the ball. However, referee Pinheiro decided to play on and the VAR did not intervene
Bayern stepped up the pressure again shortly before the break: Musiala failed to beat Safonov with a low shot in the 44th minute. Just a few seconds later, Tah headed just wide of the goal, leaving the score at 0-1 from Munich’s perspective at the break

Bayern continued to press for an equalizer after the break, but rarely posed any real danger in front of the Parisian goal
At the other end, Neuer made a brilliant save from Kvaratskhelia in the 57th minute to prevent the score from going 2-0 down. Just a few minutes later, the FCB captain was called upon again, this time deflecting a shot from Doue
Even though Bayern had significantly more possession in the second half, with just under 65 per cent, they remained too harmless in attack, too rarely managing to penetrate the French side’s penalty area and too rarely getting into good finishing positions
Bayern only managed to equalize in stoppage time, but Kane’s goal in the 94th minute came too late. In the end, it remained 1:1 and Munich were knocked out of the semi-finals
Bayern continue their Bundesliga campaign next weekend away to VfL Wolfsburg.
