Tromso believe they can expose Brighton in possession while staying wary of Albion’s pace and transition under Fabian Hurzeler.
“They are a very good team with a lot of pace. They are extremely dangerous on the counter-attack. They play good football.” He told NRK.
“But the way we’ve played in the last couple of matches, we also have a good chance of playing our way out of their press. So I think we can punish them when we have the ball.”
“It’s like other Premier League teams. There are physical players in every position. They have pace, strength and aerial and physical presence. But we’ve also shown that we have that kind of strength in our squad at the European level. It was great to see that against Cluj.”
Assistant coach Marius Jacobsen watched the Seagulls’ final friendly against Bologna at the Amex on Saturday, was largely impressed and will brief head coach Jorgen Vik on possible weaknesses. Tromso are third in the Elitserien and lost 3-2 at Molde on Sunday.
The Norwegians face Brighton in Thursday’s first leg at the Romssa Arena, with injuries a concern for goalkeeper Jakob Haugaard and defender Vetle Skjaervik.
Vik said: “We’re going to view it objectively and somewhat dispassionately, and attack them in a way we believe is effective. If we play at our best, we can trouble them. We started analysing Brighton on Sunday evening, and then the process begins for the players on Monday and Tuesday.”
