Roma will be playing in Athens, aiming to secure direct qualification for the Europa League round of 16, avoiding the playoffs. On Thursday at 9:00 PM, the Giallorossi will face Panathinaikos at the Spyros Louis Olympic Stadium.
On the eve of the match, Kostas Tsimikas spoke at a press conference alongside Gian Piero Gasperini.
The Greek full-back opened by discussing the difficulties of the last period: “I’m waiting to get more minutes, I try to do my best and give everything. Every time the coach gives me the opportunity, I try to take advantage of it. I want to grow as a player and I know I can give much more; that’s my goal.”
Tsimikas, who will face Panathinaikos again after his time at Olympiacos, explained the atmosphere in Athens: “The fans in Greece are very passionate, active, and supportive of the players. We will be focused and want to win to reach the round of 16. We came here to win, and that’s our only goal.”
He then discussed the latest transfer news regarding him: “I can say I’m very focused here; I want to be part of Roma. We’ve heard a lot of rumors; it’s better to turn a deaf ear and do my best when I have the opportunity. My only goal is to always give my best.”
