Champions League tips and predictions

17:45 - Bayern Munich v Sporting Lisbon: Back 3/1 fast start for Bayern

Paul Higham: Bayern will be keen to bounce back after defeat at Arsenal, and they've played like an angry side since with three domestic wins and 11 goals scored - so at 2/9 you'd have to expect them to put Sporting away. The Portuguese side have won three at home but face a third straight tough away game after previously visiting Napoli and Juventus.

Sporting scored in those two tough away trips and will be dangerous again so we'll back them to score, but Bayern love a fast start, scoring more first-half goals than anyone else in the competition while a lot of Sporting's best work has come in the second half - so we can get a bit creative for an extra bit of value.

20:00 - Inter v Liverpool: World Cup winner to find the net

Kevin Hatchard: Inter are the firm favourites to win this at 2.2, and that feels about right given the rock-solid form of Chivu's team and Liverpool's implosion.

However, I am going to instead back Lautaro Martinez to score at 2.4 - the Argentinian is in razor-sharp form, and Liverpool have managed just two clean sheets away from home all season. That guards against Liverpool somehow producing the kind of display that saw off Real Madrid and Aston Villa in successive games in November.

Martinez has four Champions League goals in four appearances this season, and if you add on last season's UCL exploits he has 13 goals in his last 18 Champions League matches.

20:00 - Atalanta v Chelsea: Back the stalemate in Italy

The Stat

Things went south for Chelsea after their stunning 3-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League last time out. They have not won in their last three in the Premier League. The Blues' have impressed so far in this competition but their best performances have come in their three wins at home. On the road, they lost at Bayern Munich and drew at Qarabag. Atalanta have won their last two in the Champions League - both away - and are unbeaten at home.

The Bet

20:00 - Tottenham v Slavia Prague: Back goals in home win

The Stat

With seven goals in their last two Champions League matches, we want to back 16th-placed Spurs goals on Tuesday. Their opponents have scored only two goals and sit 31st in the Champions League table.

Championship tips and predictions

19:45 Championship - Southampton v WBA: Back super Saints to march on

Jack Critchley: Southampton bounced back from the Millwall defeat with a convincing victory over Birmingham. The return of Leo Scienza to the XI gave them a boost with the skilful Brazilian dancing around Brum defenders and setting up the opening goal. Tonda Eckert's first game in charge went perfectly to plan, and they should be able to keep their winning run going on Tuesday night. They are upwardly mobile, winning five of their last six and scoring 3+ in four of their previous five.

Although Eckert has been credited with masterminding a turnaround at St. Mary's, he has a squad full of quality players to work with, and by using them in their preferred positions, he's managed to maintain a happy camp. The German was delighted with his side's performance, although he admitted that he would also love his side to keep a clean sheet. They've managed just one shutout since October 18th and were helped by the visitors being reduced to ten men in that encounter.

West Brom's poor form on the road continued at the weekend with the Baggies slipping to a sixth consecutive defeat away from the Hawthorns. Ryan Mason's side were architects of their own downfall, committing various errors at the back and giving the ball away cheaply at Loftus Road. If they repeat those mistakes, they are likely to be emphatically punished on Tuesday night. This is a tough assignment for a side that just cannot seem to replicate their home form.
