Champions League football tips and predictions

17:45 Bodo/Glimt v Man City: Back Man City win and both teams to score at 7/5

17:45 kick-offLive on Discovery+ & TNT Sports 2

Paul Higham: Man City were awful at Old Trafford so Pep Guardiola will want a big response as 4/11 favourites against winless Bodo/Glimt. The Norwegians have also played just a couple of friendlies since their last Champions League outing - whether that results in them being fresh or rusty remains to be seen.

Visiting the Arctic Circle at this time of year presents its own challenges and you wonder what side Guardiola will deploy, but Bodo have bene generous hosts recently and while they may come out swinging their lack of match fitness should tell later on.

Five of Bodo's six group games so far have seen over 3.5 goals while 11 of their last 12 European group games have seen both teams score - I'll back Bodo to find the net.

20:00 Tottenham v Borussia Dortmund: Keep an eye on Romero in 5/4 BetBuilder

Tuesday 20 January, 20:00Live on TNT Sports

Kevin Hatchard: Spurs skipper Cristian Romero was on the scoresheet on Saturday against West Ham, only for his goal to be rendered useless by Callum Wilson's late winner. He is however a threat from set plays, and Dortmund's fragility in that area was showcased by the fact they conceded two set piece goals against St Pauli in Saturday's 3-2 win.

Romero is a combative and physical defender at the best of times, but he is cutting a very frustrated figure at present. We can get odds of 5/4 on Romero to have two or more foul involvements and to have a shot on the Bet Builder. The Argentinian has had two or more foul involvements in seven of his last ten games, and has had a goal attempt in eight of the last ten.

20:00 Inter Milan v Arsenal: Back the draw at 12/5

20:00 kick-offLive on Amazon Prime

Paul Higham: Arsenal are 7/5 to keep their perfect run going at 9/5 Inter - who have lost the last two games including here against Liverpool in December. They've won six of seven (D1) in Serie A since then with four clean sheets and with Arsenal's defensive gameplan now widely known this shapes up to be a bit of a cagey chess match of a game.

An early goal can change everything of course and Mikel Arteta's men could easily grab a now typical Set Piece FC victory - but I don't think either side will be too disappointed with a draw here.

There's a couple of match stat specials here that need a mention based on how the game will go, Arsenal's big strength and European refereeing especially for the first one, of any goalkeeper to be fouled at 6/4 - while Inter won't face too many sides with set piece skills like these, so also look at Gabriel to have a header on target at 9/2.

20:00 Real Madrid v Monaco: Back Real Madrid to win to nil at 7/5

20:00 kick-offLive on Discovery+ & TNT Sports 2

Paul Higham: It's Alvaro Arbeloa's first European night in charge of Real Madrid but he's under prssure from the off with home fans disgruntled with how the season's going, so he'll hope Monaco being the League 1 form that's seen them lose four straight and not their UCL form of no defeat in five.

Monaco have the potential to make life difficult for Real, and it won't take much for the home fans to get restless so it could be a tough night's work, but the form of the visitors just doesn't add up to them being able to get something from the game, so we'll back Real to grind out a narrow win.

19:45- Coventry v Millwall: Back Millwall or draw double chance at 1/1

19:45 Kick offLive on the Sky Sports App+

Jack Critchley: Coventry re-established their six-point cushion at the top of the table with a vital 2-1 victory over Leicester at the weekend. Frank Lampard's side have been revitalised by the January signings and produced an xG of 2.12 on Saturday lunchtime. Cov's form has been a bit wobbly lately, although barring a 2-0 loss to Ipswich their home form has been pretty imperious.

They are the team that everyone wants to beat and they have felt the pressure of being the early-season pacesetters, but Romaine Esse has injected some much-needed energy into the attack.

Millwall produced a sensational display to beat Watford at Vicarage Road. Although they looked a little tired in the second half, they approached the game with terrific intensity, with eight of their 13 shots taken before the break. Alex Neil's side are the ultimate party poopers and they tend to enjoy playing on the road. They are unbeaten in their last five over all and, with Casper de Norre and Femi Azeez back in the XI, they are far more efficient. They could easily steal another point here.

19:45- Preston v Hull: Back another home defeat for PNE or draw no bet at 7/5

19:45 Kick off Live on the Sky Sports App+

Jack Critchley: Paul Heckingbottom seemingly got his team selection wrong on Saturday as his side slipped to a narrow defeat to Derby. The wing-backs failed to show enough going forward and that meant the hosts were far too conservative.

Although they were denied a potential penalty, they failed to deal with the threat from the Rams, and didn't create enough at the other end of the pitch. It's just one win in six at Deepdale and that came against rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday, making it difficult to trust them in front of their own fans. The state of the pitch doesn't help their cause with neither side able to play free-flowing football with the turf tending to cut up.

Hull maintained their play-off position with a deserved 2-1 success at St Mary's. Hull are unbeaten in six of their last seven, and have been victorious in five of their last six on the road. Although they were given a helping hand by the hosts, they were ruthlessly clinical and took their chances when they came along.
