The power struggle at Corinthians has reached prosecutors, with Romeu Tuma Júnior filing a report on Friday to the São Paulo Public Prosecutor's Office against president Osmar Stabile and deputy legal director William Tapara, alleging false testimony and coercion. According to Meu Timao, he asked for an inquiry.

The 13-page filing says Tuma has acted rigorously as chair of the Deliberative Council, prioritising a members' vote on 18 April, formal requests to the board, and the appraisal of Stabile's 2025 accounts. He says the ethics case against him stalled without the promised recordings, and argues Stabile seeks to block that vote.

Tuma alleges Stabile fabricated a threat case using testimony from subordinates. He says Tapara tried to sway the associate Cicatriz, who argued with him at the same time and place of the alleged incident. He also contests a meeting called to remove him, a move later disputed and not implemented by Tuma or vice-chair Leonardo Pantaleão.

The filing says a provocation by Cicatriz occurred at the Parque São Jorge pizzeria on six March, citing CCTV and his posts. Stabile maintains Tuma threatened him just after and filed a police report on 12 March, six days later and three days after a failed statute vote in the council.

Tuma points to Cicatriz's visit to the training ground on 17 March, where he met players and received an autographed shirt, shared online, and to a 21 March call in which Cicatriz said he felt coerced by contacts linked to Tapara offering footage to support an assault claim he denies.

The filing lists six possible crimes, including sponsoring false testimony, coercion in the course of proceedings, unlawful constraint, calumnious denunciation, false testimony and procedural fraud. Tuma asks prosecutors to open an inquiry and secure pizzeria footage from six March.
