AC Milan have not given up on signing Samuele Ricci after the links in recent windows, and on the contrary they are planning a summer assault.
Torino had to do without Ricci in midfield against Como over the weekend and his absence was widely felt in that area of the pitch, which was the most fragile. He is becoming more and more of an important player, and Torino know they will struggle to keep him this summer.
Tuttosport (via MilanPress) report this morning, Milan do not want to see an auction break out for Ricci or for any competitors to get ahead of them. The Rossoneri have been after the Italian for a long time and even made an attempt in January.
Torino’s president Urbano Cairo rejected the attempts, because he wanted to keep Ricci at least until the end of the season. He even signed a renewal but it is believed that a gentleman’s agreement is part of it, so now the Rossoneri want to get hold of the former Empoli man before anyone else.
The asking price starts from a base of €35-40m, and – knowing Cairo – it is unlikely that he will leave for a lower figure. There will be negotiations, also because the Rossoneri value him less and do not seem convinced by the excessively high figure.
