AC Milan’s search for a new centre-forward (or two) this summer is being carried out with Francesco Camarda firmly in mind, according to a report.

After the announcement of Alvaro Morata as a new signing yesterday, Tuttosport (via Radio Rossonera) claim that the management do not seem to want to stop there because they are also negotiating for Niclas Füllkrug.

The German striker has just had his first season with Borussia Dortmund, who he joined after being the Bundesliga’s top scorer with Werder Bremen, and he netted 16 times across all competitions lass season.

Like Morata, Fullkrug is an experienced profile (31 years of age) but behind this strategy there is the intention not to block the pathway for Camarda, so that the staff can promote him to the first team when he is ready.

The idea is to have Morata and Füllkrug for the attack for perhaps a couple of years – while waiting to understand what happens with Luka Jovic – and then Camarda could well be knocking the door down and ready to play senior football.

According to Tuttosport, the choice also comes from the fact that the two could ‘teach a lot and then leave space in the next few years, or months, for Camarda’ who is indicated by the newspaper as ‘not only the number 9 of the future, but also of the present’.
