AC Milan do not yet have a new sporting director, but they are already planning for next season. One of the areas they seem determined to intervene is in the striker department.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports this morning that Milan could sign another striker in the summer, despite the significant investment made in the winter transfer window to acquire Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord.
This is because the alternatives to Gimenez are Tammy Abraham (on loan from Roma) and Luka Jovic (who has an expiring contract), so there are no guarantees that either are here for 2025-26 at the present moment.
The Milan directors are looking around for possible options, with two of them having emerged in Serie A. The names they admire are Lorenzo Lucca at Udinese and Nikola Kristovic at Lecce, and they have been scouting them for some time.
However, the scouts are also watching games in Germany and France. Milan are in fact carefully observing the performances of Mainz’s Jonathan Burkardt, who has scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga this season.
Not only that, but Monaco’s Mika Biereth is on their radar, who only arrived in the Principality in January for €15m from Sturm Graz but has netted 12 times in 13 appearances in Ligue 1 (after 14 goals in Austria between August and December).
