Tuttosport: Milan looking to Ibrahimovic and Morata to ‘revive’ themselves against Liverpool

After AC Milan’s start, Paulo Fonseca needs someone to drag his team forward, and a report has suggested that the Rossoneri must look to two No.9s, one from the past, and one from the present.

The magnitude of Tuesday’s fixture cannot be understated. Milan’s win last weekend has only paused the problems, but a loss in either, let alone both of the upcoming fixtures would likely resume the talk about the issues. Probably, they would return much louder in volume.

This, of course, then comes with its own problem. Who can the Diavolo turn to in the hope of getting these results?

As Tuttosport (via Milan News) reports, Milan must look to the No.9. When the Rossoneri last successfully faced Liverpool, they were led by Filippo Inzaghi. Now, they must be led by two No.9s. One from the past, and one from the present.

The report suggests that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alvaro Morata must be the ones to ‘revive’ the Diavolo in their present state, and whilst both are capable of such a task, their importance must be shown this week.

Zlatan, absent from Milan in the past two weeks, has been a topic of conversation. For some, he fled when things got difficult, although the club have stated that his absence was due to previously made commitments. However, he returned to Milanello on the eve of Tuesday’s clash, perhaps the best time to return.

Looking at the present and future, Morata is ‘desperate’ to get back to playing after his recent absence, and whilst he has been unable to lead on the pitch, it is imagined he will have made attempts off it.

Consistently, he has spoken of responsibilities when playing for Milan – something which the fans admire him for recognising – and now he must show those responsibilities, whilst enforcing the same mentality on his teammates.
