Twins Ryan and Steven Sessegnon play each other as Fulham beat AFC Wimbledon | OneFootball

Ryan and Steven Sessegnon went head to head for the first time as Fulham won 3-0 against AFC Wimbledon at Craven Cottage to reach the Carabao Cup third round.

As reported by Hounslow Herald, both brothers completed the full 90 and embraced at full-time.

Ryan headed Kenny Tete’s ball back across goal to set up Emile Smith Rowe’s opener, Rodrigo Muniz added a second before half-time, then Gonzalo Garcia rounded the goalkeeper in stoppage time.

Ryan was one of 10 changes from Fulham’s 3-2 loss to Chelsea on Monday night. Steven was one of six from the League One club’s 1-1 draw with Reading.

They almost met in February 2025 when Fulham visited Wigan in the FA Cup, but while Ryan started, Steven stayed on the bench. Eighteen months on, they were last out of the tunnel, each carrying a young daughter.

Raised in Roehampton, the twins came through Fulham’s academy. Ryan debuted at 16 in the League Cup in 2016, Steven followed in 2017 in the same competition.

Ryan dazzled in the Championship, winning 2018 Player of the Season and assisting Tom Cairney’s Wembley winner for promotion. He joined Tottenham Hotspur for £25m in 2019, battled injuries, spent a loan at Hoffenheim, then rejoined Fulham on a free in 2024.

Steven was a squad player, loaned to Bristol City, Plymouth Argyle and Charlton Athletic before a permanent move to Wigan. The 26-year-old joined Wimbledon this summer, returning to South West London, with Plough Lane and Craven Cottage 4.4 miles apart.
