Kasper Hjulmand is widely expected to be sacked as Bayer Leverkusen coach following Saturday’s final game of the Bundesliga season, with the club highly unlikely to meet their target of qualifying for the Champions League.
According to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga side are already searching for a new coach and have identified two possible replacements.
The first is Filipe Luís, who guided Brazilian outfit Flamengo to both a league title and the Copa Libertadores before being dismissed in March. Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro and sporting director Simon Rolfes are said to hold the former Brazil international in high regard.
Another option is Girona coach Michel, who is expected to leave the La Liga side in the summer.
Hjulmand took over as Leverkusen coach a few games into the season and is under contract until 2027.
