The goalkeeping position at FC Barcelona is expected to undergo a significant change next season, with several changes expected to take place in this area of the team.
For instance, the Catalans are closely linked with the 24-year-old Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, whose arrival would threaten Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s starting position, and can even force him towards a departure.
Meanwhile, Wojciech Szczesny is also yet to sign a renewal with the Blaugrana club, although recent reports indicate that he would ultimately end up doing so.

Furthermore, Inaki Pena is likely to leave Barcelona this summer, as Hansi Flick opted to trust Szczesny in Ter Stegen’s absence for most of the last season.
A report by Mundo Deportivo indicates that there is no dearth of interesting options for his next destination for the Spanish goalkeeper, as two teams that are going to compete in Europe next season are very strongly interested in him.
One of these teams is Celta Vigo, which has qualified for the UEFA Europa League. The La Liga club is monitoring Pena’s situation very closely, as they value his incorporation into a growing project with a lot of emphasis on youth.
The second team is the Turkish side Galatasaray, which will be a participant in the UEFA Champions League next season. The Turks are looking to replace Fernando Muslera, who recently retired, and have very good memories of Inaki Pena, who spent the 2021-22 season on loan with them.
Meanwhile, there are two other Spanish teams also interested in him, i.e., Sevilla and Valencia, but their respective situations make it difficult for them to make a formal offer for Pena.
The Andalucians are facing a difficult economic situation, while Valencia’s internal process for making signings is slow in general, as its owners are based in Singapore.
However, having become a father recently, Inaki Pena would likely want to reside in Spain, thus, Celta Vigo seems to be the best-placed side for his signing at the moment.
