Two Juventus requirements to sign Skriniar from PSG

Juventus are interested in arranging a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for the transfer of former Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar, but only on a temporary loan deal and only if his current employers agree to cover part of his salary, according to Saturday’s reports.

Juventus conditions for potential Bremer replacements

Juventus are on the lookout for a defender to replace Gleison Bremer, who is expected to miss the majority of the 2024-25 campaign after suffering a combined ligament and meniscus injury against RB Leipzig in the Champions League last week.

However, after a busy summer transfer window, during which the Bianconeri forked out around €200m on transfer fees, the club are only likely to sign a replacement defender on a straight loan deal, and only if the wages are not too excessive.

Juventus would also like someone who is fit and available to hit the ground running in Serie A.

Skriniar ticks plenty of boxes, as he is out of favour in Paris but still match fit, having recently played the full 90 for Slovakia in their 2-2 draw against Sweden. He is also familiar with the environment in Serie A, having spent eight seasons in Italy with Sampdoria and Inter.

However, he is reportedly earning around €9m per season on his current PSG contract, which is still too much for Juventus, even on a short-term deal, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

For that reason, if Juventus are to complete a deal for Skriniar, it would likely only be on a six-month loan, and only if PSG are willing to cover part of the salary.
