Leeds United’s opening home fixtures have been rescheduled for television in August and September, the Premier League confirmed. Brentford and Newcastle United at Elland Road will move, with the latter still subject to change.

Brentford’s visit is now a 2pm kick-off on Sunday 30 August on Sky Sports. The date coincides with Leeds Festival at Bramham Park, which runs from Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 August.

At the same time, Sky Sports will also show Chelsea against Brighton and Sunderland against Fulham. Leeds begin September away to Brighton and Hove Albion, a Saturday 3pm start as with Nottingham Forest on the opening weekend.

Newcastle’s trip to Elland Road is slated for 8pm on Monday 14 September, making it the first game of 2026/27 under the lights. That slot could shift again.

If either side reach the Carabao Cup third round and are drawn against an opponent playing Champions League football, the league match would be brought forward to 12.30pm on Saturday 12 September. There will be five Premier League teams in Europe’s top competition.

Leeds enter the Carabao Cup in the second round, scheduled for the week commencing 24 August. With the draw expected after those ties, any further change to the Newcastle date could come with around two weeks’ notice.
