Serie A side Inter have been keen on bringing Aleksander Stankovic back from Club Brugge by exercising their option to buy him back from Club Brugge. But this doesn’t necessarily mean that the midfielder will stay in Italy beyond the current campaign.

Get Italian Football News have covered how the Nerazzurri have appeared sure of the deal.

Today, Libero – via Calciomercato, report that things may not be as certain anymore.

The Club Brugge player has received two offers from Premier League clubs. The identity of the clubs remains unknown but this would make sure that Inter will lose control of the Serbian completely.

The value of the offer stands at around €40 million, which is much more than Inter’s buyback clause. It is natural that Club Brugge would be more appealed by the larger offer, which will come as a big blow to the Nerazzurri, who are likely to lose Davide Frattesi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Inter might not need Stankovic

The Inter midfield was anyway quite packed this season, with Andy Diouf also having joined from Lens. He himself hasn’t made a mark, with Frattesi also definitely on his way out.

Curtis Jones has constantly been mentioned as a target, which will make a move for Stankovic rather unnecessary. If anything, he would only be brought in and sold on in the summer.

That is why it might more sense for them to not sign the Club Brugge player at all.
