Two Real Madrid stars have had their contracts extended until July | OneFootball

Two members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid have seen their contract terms extended for an extra month.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Luka Modrić and Lucas Vázquez as the pair in question.

The long-term futures of midfielder Modrić and full-back Vázquez are of course considered as being entirely up in the air at present.

As much comes with neither player having yet been offered an extension to their expiring terms for the 2025/26 campaign.

As alluded to above, though, both have in fact already received short-term renewals to their respective deals.

As per AS, with Modrić and Vázquez having been due to see their contracts in Spain’s capital run out in June, the Real Madrid brass recently found grounds upon which to extend both players until July.

Why? To ensure that they are eligible to feature at the upcoming Club World Cup.
