Two Real Madrid stars suffered injury setbacks in Barcelona defeat | OneFootball

Two members of the defensive ranks at Real Madrid picked up fitness problems during the club’s meeting with Barcelona on Saturday.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Antonio Rüdiger and Lucas Vázquez as the pair in question.

Defenders Rüdiger and Vázquez both featured from the off last night, as Real welcomed arch rivals Barcelona to the Santiago Bernabéu for the opening Clásico of the campaign.

When all was said and done, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops were put to the sword in alarming fashion, by four goals to nil.

As alluded to above, though, the eventual result did not represent the only source of concern for Real Madrid on Saturday.

In addition, as per a report from Marca:

‘Antonio Rüdiger and Lucas Vázquez finished the match with physical problems.’

The former’s issue, of a muscular nature, is understood to be the more serious of the two.

Rüdiger and Vázquez will in turn be put through a round of medical tests and scans over the days ahead, to ascertain whether or not either is facing up to an incoming spell on the sidelines.
