Already named La Liga’s manager of the month in August, Hansi Flick has been nominated once more for the same title in September and rightfully so.

Barcelona, after all, are flying in La Liga with seven wins in as many games and sit on top of the league standings by a sizeable margin.

With the hectic schedule growing on them, the team are set to take to the field for their eighth game in La Liga tomorrow night against Osasuna at El Sadar stadium and here are two records the team will have their eyes on ahead of kickoff.

Flick eyes history

Barcelona’s best-ever start to a season in history was under Tata Martino in 2013-14 when the team went on to win eight consecutive games in the domestic competition.

Flick’s men are at the doorstep of equalling that historic number and will do so if they take all three points against Osasuna tomorrow. Crossing their latest hurdle, however, will be far from simple.

Osasuna are yet to lose in Pamplona this season and have been close to perfect at home. Of their four games at El Sadar so far, they have won three and drawn just once.

The second record Flick will look to stamp his team’s authority on tomorrow, thus, is to put an end to Osasuna’s run at home and thus inflict a first defeat on the hosts.

With the two records being closely intertwined, the Catalans will either rewrite both on the night or fail on both fronts.

Given the team’s belief, personality and character at this point, one would put their money on an eighth straight win.
