Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva admits he made the decision to leave the club at the end of the season “a long time ago”.
The Portugal star helped his side to a huge 2-1 win over Premier League leaders Arsenal on Sunday as City moved just three points behind their title rivals with a game in hand.
“Very big obviously because it puts us in a position if we win our game in hand we’re on the same points,” Silva reflected. “Two weeks ago this didn’t look very likely, this scenario, so a tough game, a good game, and we’re happy we can be on the same points.
“These big games are like this. It’s the small details, the small margins that make the difference, but overall I think we played a good game. We were there, our fans were there, so I’m really proud.
“It’s a long season. A lot of small details didn’t go our way this season. Not only decisions but allso unlucky plays, we missed a lot of chances, as had a lot of games we should have won. Today things went our way. I’m really happy.”

The 31-year-old now says he is focused on ending his nine-year stay at the club on a high.
“I made the decision a long time ago so for me it’s been emotional all season because I knew my decision,” he said.
“I just want to finish on a good ending and win trophies, and I’m doing my best for this club until the end.”
