The defender had struggled for game time with the Reds following his arrival from Reading during the 2025 January transfer window.

The New Zealand international has made 21 appearances in the Championship so far this season, contributing one goal.

The 21-year-old has been a consistent presence for the Blades during the second half of the campaign, with the club looking to climb the second division table.

Chris Wilder’s side are now 10 points adrift of the play-off places, but the team will still be targeting as many points as possible between now and the final game of the campaign on 2 May.

But it remains unclear what the future holds for Bindon, whose loan spell will also conclude after the clash against Derby County on the final day of the season.

Bindon has claimed that his future remains unknown with only eight games left to play in the Championship this season, suggesting that anything could happen yet.

The defender believes he is at home at Bramall Lane, and he has thanked the supporters for making him feel welcome during this loan spell, and that he’s grateful to everyone who has helped him this year.

“Who knows what happens beyond then? The future's undecided and no one knows exactly what's going to happen,” said Bindon, via The Star.

“But I think no matter what you do every day, you can always learn and grow.

“As a person, as a player, as a parent, as a colleague, as a friend.

“No matter what you're doing.

“I feel very much at home.

“I think the fans have been amazing to me.

“The staff and all the players have been really supportive, so I'm very grateful towards them all.”

Bindon didn’t play for Nottingham Forest last season, with the defender going back out on loan to former side Reading following his move to the City Ground.

The 21-year-old made 44 appearances in League One, contributing two goals, as the Royals narrowly missed out on a play-off place by coming seventh in the table.

Sheffield United are now unlikely to reach the top six themselves this season, with the gap to Wrexham now 10 points.

A failure to win in four of their last five fixtures has seen them fall behind their rivals for a play-off place, with the team now 15th in the table.

However, the final weeks of the campaign still offer players like Bindon an opportunity to showcase what he can bring to Sheffield United, and perhaps even prove to Nottingham Forest that he can make an impact in their first team squad.

This has been the centre-back’s first campaign in the second division, previously spending two seasons at a League One level.

Next up for Wilder’s side is a home clash against Wrexham on 21 March in a 3pm kick-off.

Tyler Bindon permanent sale option should be considered by Sheffield United

It remains unclear whether Bindon has a future at Nottingham Forest, particularly as their own league status for next season is still uncertain amid a relegation battle in the Premier League.

But Sheffield United should be weighing up a possible permanent deal, just in case, as he has been a solid addition to the squad, and has particularly played well under Wilder.

He is also still only 21, and has shown he can contribute with consistent performances at a Championship level.

But Forest may want to keep him despite not making an impact at the City Ground, especially if they find themselves in the Championship next season.
