Scotland head coach Steve Clarke called up 19-year-old Manchester United midfielder Tyler Fletcher on Sunday for the World Cup, replacing the injured Billy Gilmour.

According to L'Équipe, the decision followed Gilmour suffering a right knee injury in Saturday's warm-up against Curaçao. Scotland won 4-1 and the midfielder departed in the 42nd minute.

Fletcher has played only 17 minutes of Premier League football this season, spread across two appearances for United.

He made his senior Scotland debut against Curaçao on Saturday, coming on at half-time. The teenager had been in the wider training group for the tournament but was not expected to travel across the Atlantic.

The World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July. Fletcher is the son of Darren Fletcher.
