The current attendance record for a Barclays Women’s Championship fixture is held by Sheffield United. The Blades recorded an attendance of 11,137 for their home fixture against London City Lionesses at Bramall Lane in November 2022. If all of those fans who have bought tickets for the Tyne-Wear derby attend, a new attendance record will be set.

The first Tyne-Wear derby in the Barclays Women’s Championship promises to be an intriguing affair. Newcastle United have invested heavily in their playing squad and have put in some promising performances while Sunderland are back on track after a tricky start to the new campaign. Ahead of the game, it is difficult to say which team will come out on top.
