Hearts manager Derek McInnes has met the media ahead of his side’s crucial clash with Rangers on Monday afternoon.

He opened by giving his thoughts and feelings on the upcoming match. “Of course, you look forward to these games. I love the games at Tynecastle in particular, the whole build-up to it. So, there’s obviously a lot riding on the game. And we can’t downplay that. And why would we? It’s a brilliant game to be involved in. I think all the Hearts supporters I’ve spoken to here are eagerly anticipating the game.”

The 54-year-old went on to speak about the strange kick-off time, 5:30pm (UK time), for this game. “Monday at that time is unusual, but it’s not going to dilute what’s going to be unfolding on Monday. The start of the game will be magnificent. Hopefully the end of the game is even better.”

McInnes closed with something of a battle cry for the Hearts faithful ahead of a potentially historic clash. “We just want Tynecastle to be in its full glory, to be honest. We want it to be even better than it’s been. To the supporters, bring your scarves, show your colours, give it laldy. Let’s go and make it a proper night. We’ll be determined to get the right result.”
