Barça has no intention of taking it easy during the U17 World Cup, with the final stages set to take place in Qatar from November 3 to November 27.
The Catalan club is planning to scout several top prospects with the aim of eventually bringing them into its renowned La Masia academy.
According to Catalan daily “sport”, the Iberian football giant will send João Amaral, director of the scouting department, along with an academy coach to monitor the matches at this premier youth tournament.
Their main goal: to identify promising players capable of breaking into the professional squad in the near future.
As a reminder, this 20th edition of the World Cup will feature 48 nations, the same format that will be used for the senior World Cup in 2026.
Africa will be represented by 10 teams: Burkina Faso, Mali, Morocco, South Africa, Zambia, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Tunisia, Egypt, and Uganda.
