Morocco and Brazil are set to clash this Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago for the second matchday of Group C at the U20 World Cup.

"I'm talking about a time. That those under twenty. Cannot know," sang Charles Aznavour in his famous song "La Bohème." Lyrics that perfectly fit the first and only meeting between Morocco and Brazil at the U20 World Cup.

It was back on July 2, 2005, in Utrecht. During that 15th edition held in the Netherlands, both Morocco and Brazil made it to the semi-finals, but lost respectively to Nigeria (0-3) and Argentina (1-2).

The two teams then battled for third place, and it was the Brazilians—the defending champions at the time—who prevailed, winning 2-1 after a wild finish to the match.

Morocco took the lead thanks to an own goal by Edcarlos in the 47th minute, but Brazil turned the game around through Fabio Santos (88') and Edcarlos, who redeemed himself for his earlier mistake by securing the bronze for his country in stoppage time (90+1').
