Úbeda names Boca squad to face Newell’s as new signings included | OneFootball

Claudio Úbeda has named Boca’s squad to host Newell’s Old Boys at La Bombonera on Sunday, with signings Santiago Ascacíbar and Ángel Romero included for the first time.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the team finished their final session in Ezeiza before matchday three of the Torneo Apertura 2026, aiming to bounce back from defeat at Estudiantes in La Plata.

The starting XI remains uncertain after further tweaks in training, and only Ascacíbar is likely to start. Romero is also available to debut.

Iker Zufiaurre, Gonzalo Gelini and Tomás Aranda stay in the group, with Zufiaurre and Gelini having a strong chance of minutes.

Kick-off is at 19:15 local time at the Alberto J. Armando. Referee Pablo Echavarría will take charge, with Hector Paletta on VAR. ESPN Premium will broadcast in Argentina.
