Udinese have confirmed that new signing Alexis Sanchez is set for a spell on the sidelines, less than a fortnight after he returned to the club following 13 years away with Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United and Inter.
Udinese have confirmed that Alexis has suffered a myofascial legion in his left leg during a recent training session, but have not put a recovery timeframe on the injury.
The recovery time for that particular issue can vary massively depending on severity, but the worst examples tend to be somewhere around four to six months.
It is an unfortunate blow for Udinese, who recently re-signed the 35-year-old after his second spell with Inter came to a close at the end of last season.
At a minimum, the Chilean will miss Udinese’s upcoming Serie A fixtures against Lazio and and Como, and will also have to skip Chile’s next games against Argentina and Bolivia. He will also probably be sidelines for the rest of the league fixtures in September, spilling into October and possibly November.
