West Ham survived an early and a late scare to beat Silkeborg 3-2 to maintain their 100 per cent start in the Conference League.
Scorers: Kusk 5′, Tengstedt 75′; Lanzini (PEN) 13′, Scamacca 25′, Dawson 38′
David Moyes picked what amounted to his strongest side for their trip to Denmark as the the Hammers looked to make it two wins from two in Group B.
But it was the home side who took the lead after just five minutes as Kasper Kusk finished with aplomb.
The east London outfit rallied though and soon equalised as Manuel Lanzini netted a penalty.
West Ham completed the turnaround on 25 minutes as Gianluca Scamacca rifled one in from 20 yards.
This crazy half almost took another turn on the half hour mark but Silkeborg had a goal disallowed for a foul on Alphonse Areola.
The Premier League side then went straight up the other end and scored through Craig Dawson.
Into the second half and Moyes’s side seemed to take their foot off the gad and let Silkeborg back into the game as Soren Tengstedt scored with 15 minutes to go.
But West Ham held on to keep up their perfect start in the competition.
The next round of games will come after the international break on October 7.
