The league phase draw for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League took place on Thursday in Monaco as German clubs found out who their opponents will be for the upcoming installment of Europe’s premier competition. Bayern Munich will face Arsenal at home, an opponent they are familiar with. The two clubs met last season in the league phase, and Arsenal managed to win 3-1, while in the 2023/24 season Bayern knocked The Gunners out of the competition in the quarter-finals. Bayern will also face Atletico Madrid and Manchester United away from home, which are poised to be exciting fixtures against strong opponents. The other opponents for the German record champions are Real Betis (H), FK Bodø/Glimt(H) , Lille (A), SK Slavia Prague (H), and competition debutants Norway side Viking (A). Borussia Dortmund will hope to do better than last season, when they were knocked out by Atalanta in the last 32 phase. The Black and Yellows will face Inter at home, while they will face English teams Arsenal and Aston Villa away , and will play against La Liga sides Villarreal and Real Betis at home. Just like Bayern BVB will also face Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt (A). AEK Athens (H) and Azerbaijan side Sabah (A) round ofF the opponent list for Niko Kovac’s side. RB Leipzig will face tough opposition in Manchester City (H), Real Madrid (A), and Manchester United (A). They will, however, fancy their chances against debutants Como (A), RC Lens (H), Shakhtar Donetsk (H), PSV (H) and Feyenoord (A). Stuttgart’s draw seems to be a favorable one. Even though the Swabians will host Atletico Madrid at home and face Inter away, they will hope to collect points against the rest of their rivals.
