Igoh Ogbu ruled out for Slavia Prague

For their opening match in the 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League, Slavia Prague will be without Igoh Ogbu. The Nigerian defender is sidelined due to injury.

It was head coach Jindřich Trpišovský who confirmed the absence of his central defender for the clash against Bodo/Glimt, scheduled for Wednesday, September 17 at 16:45 GMT. “Ogbu will not be included in the squad,” he lamented.

The Nigerian international (3 caps) has been playing in the Czech Republic since 2023 after joining from Lillestrøm (Norway). He has featured in four Chance Liga matches this season.

In total, the 25-year-old has made 97 appearances for the Czech champions, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists.

Slavia Prague are aiming to kick off their Champions League campaign with a win against a manageable opponent before facing European heavyweights such as FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Atalanta Bergamo.
