UEFA have hit Spain duo Rodri and Álvaro Morata with one-match bans for their chants about Gibraltar.

The Manchester City midfielder referred to the British-owned territory as “Spanish” during public celebrations of their EURO 2024 victory.

European football’s governing body has now found Rodri and Morata guilty of “violating the basic rules of decent conduct” in their actions.

The pair are now set to be sidelined for the next UEFA competition game they are eligible to play in, most likely La Roja’s Nations League game with Serbia next month.
