UEFA lifts veto on FIFA competitions but maintains its conflict with Infantino | OneFootball

UEFA confirmed in a statement that it has lifted its veto on FIFA competitions, yet its sharp criticism of Gianni Infantino indicates the dispute is very much alive.

The European body met to review the fallout from Infantino’s now-aborted bid to bring external investors into a World Cup-linked stake via FIFA Forward Enterprise. It resolved to return to FIFA events, with the next scheduled as the Under-20 World Cup in Poland from 5 September.

After receiving the two guarantees it demanded on 30 July, the confederation has provisionally suspended its threat to withdraw European national teams from next season’s FIFA tournaments. The decision covers the women’s under-20, men’s under-17 and women’s under-17 World Cups.
