UEFA is preparing to file a criminal complaint in Switzerland against FIFA president Gianni Infantino for alleged disloyal management linked to the aborted Fifa Forward Enterprise plan.
According to L'Équipe, the governing body has also moved in the United States, asking the Southern District of Florida to compel disclosure of materials on the project’s conception under Section 1782 of the US judicial code.
The application states that UEFA and other interested parties intend to initiate criminal proceedings in Switzerland against Infantino, with possible actions concerning other FIFA officials and advisers.
Fifa Forward Enterprise envisaged selling a share of World Cup rights to private investment before being shelved.
The move signals an effort to increase pressure on Infantino to abandon a re-election bid on 18 March, when FIFA holds its elective congress in Rabat, Morocco.
