Newcastle United gave Qarabağ FK no chance. Away from home, the English side outclassed their opponents 6-1 in the Champions League playoff, with Anthony Gordon delivering a masterclass.

Right from the start, Gordon broke the deadlock after a long ball from Dan Burn. Newcastle kept the momentum: Malick Thiaw doubled the lead before Gordon struck twice more, including one from the penalty spot. After just 30 minutes, the scoreboard already read 0-4.

Just before the break, another penalty allowed Gordon to notch his fourth goal of the evening (0-5). In the second half, Qarabag managed a consolation, but Jacob Murphy quickly replied to seal a resounding 6-1 final score. A dazzling display from the Magpies, who carry a commanding lead into the return leg.
