Unai Simón reunited with Dazn reporter Elena G. Durán in the mixed zone at the Pizjuán after Spain’s 4-1 win over Croatia, and this time he surprised her with a mystery gift.

According to El Correo, Durán, nicknamed the ‘periodista de los puñitos’ for offering players small presents in exchange for a fist-bump during the World Cup, had struck up a notable rapport with Simón.

In Seville she challenged the Athletic goalkeeper to a quick game of rock, paper, scissors. He initially hesitated, saying he was not much good at it, then accepted.

The pair’s previous meeting during a Spain camp came at the World Cup celebrations in Madrid, when Simón threw her his Athletic txapela from the open-top bus.
