Unbeaten run and record sale: Red Bull Bragantino v Corinthians

Corinthians returns to the field this Thursday night (12th) to try to start their comeback in the 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. At 8 PM (Brasília time), at the Neo Química Arena, the black and white team hosts Red Bull Bragantino, in a match valid for the third round of the national tournament.

Timão's situation in the standings is poor at this early stage. With two fewer games than most competitors, the team is at the bottom of the table with zero points. Meanwhile, the club from Bragança Paulista is in a positive moment: they have six points after winning the two matches they played and are in third position.

Bragantino's good phase is not limited to the Brasileirão. The team has nine consecutive matches without a loss and remains unbeaten in the 2026 season. Considering the matches in the National and the Paulistão, they have five wins and four draws, along with a solid defensive performance: only two goals conceded and 13 scored during this period.

In fact, one of these positive results was precisely against Corinthians. In the second round of the Campeonato Paulista, coach Dorival Júnior chose to rest the main players and fielded an alternative lineup. The outcome was a 3-0 defeat to this Thursday's opponent.

For the current match, however, Bragantino will not have one of its key players from the start of the year. Forward Jhon Jhon was sold to FC Zenit Saint Petersburg for 20 million euros — an amount that, at the time of the negotiation, was around R$ 125 million. The player is already in Russia, integrated with his new club.

It is worth remembering that Jhon Jhon played a decisive role in the meeting between the teams in the State Championship. He scored two of Bragantino's three goals. The other was scored by Colombian Henry Mosquera, who is expected to start in tonight's match in Itaquera.
