VfB Stuttgart's two-goal hero Deniz Undav was full of joy in his post-match interview after their 3-2 win over FC Augsburg this evening.
“We were determined to get this win. We’re on a roll and that’s why it was important also to win the last match before the international break.
"I’m proud of the whole team, the way we helped each other and did everything to get this victory. It was about desire for us today; everyone put in a huge effort.
“With the number of games we’ve had over recent days and weeks, it just feels really good to have capped off this period with a win like this,” he added.
Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß also shared his thoughts on the match and paid tribute to his squad who battled for the win.
“It was a hard-fought and difficult game – Augsburg really tested us and we had to push our limits mentally after all the matches in recent days.
"My team gave it everything they’ve got and we’re really happy that we got the three points. Scoring the goal to make it 3-2 almost directly after Augsburg’s huge chance was crucial and that turned the game in our favour.
“It’s a credit to the whole team that all the players are contributing to our current situation with their performances and their effort,” Hoeneß explained.
