Under-20 striker leaves Corinthians, club keeps share of economic rights

Corinthians confirmed a departure from their under-20 team this Friday (6). Central do Timão found that forward Richard Henry, 18, had his contract terminated by the club. The contract was valid until November 2027, and Timão will retain 20% of the young player's economic rights.

The player, born in July 2007, has already said goodbye to the club on his social media and has an agreement with a new club, which should be announced in the coming days. “It was an honor to be Corinthians”, wrote Richard in a story shared on his official Instagram profile – see below.

Born in Paraná, the athlete arrived at Parque São Jorge in February 2024, after being scouted by a Corinthians scout while playing for PSTC, a club from his hometown. He was the first reinforcement signed by the Under-17 team that year.

Initially, he played as a left-wing forward but was repositioned as a center forward. The change occurred mainly after Richard Henry underwent specific strengthening work, motivated by the identification of an initial physical deficit. With an approximate gain of six kilograms of muscle mass, the player began to be tested more frequently in the new role.

Widely used by Raphael Laruccia in the Under-17 team, especially coming on during matches, the young player had a sequence and performance that secured him a spot in the squad led by Orlando Ribeiro, which finished as runner-up in the 2024 Copinha.
