Joao Pedro’s recent form is getting him a lot of attention, including from big names like Gary Lineker who praised him on a podcast.

Chelsea have dropped points in their last two games, but one person who hasn’t let them down is their striker Joao Pedro. He scored both against Leeds and Burnley.

On the Rest is Football podcast, former Spurs star Gary Lineker admitted that the Brazilian was going under the radar a bit. The former Brighton man is up to ten league goals for the season, without having taken a spot kick. He also has good numbers in terms of assists.

It’s not all been easy for him, but as we enter the crucial final third of the season, he’s hit form at the right time.

“Isak, Ekitike, Pedro, Gyokeres and Sesko were the big ones weren’t they last summer,” Lineker said.

“Ekitike has done really well and similar numbers but Pedro has perhaps gone slightly under the radar in terms of how well he’s done.”

It probably shouldn’t be a surprise that JP has gone under the radar a little. There are good reasons for that – firstly his streaky scoring. After a good start he had a long barren run that had people looking elsewhere. But under Liam Rosenior he’s back to his best and is climbing the scoring charts.

In other Joao Pedro news…

His good form has also made him the top scoring of all the new summer signings in the league, not bad given the competition.

All those goals and assists are adding up, and have made the Brazilian the Premier League’s most in form player, at least according to the stats.
