The defending champions are just two points below leaders Roma and Inter, but have won just two of the last five games and have not scored in the last three.

Conte has complained that he’s not seeing the ‘positive energy’ the dressing room had last season and already spoke to De Laurentiis on Sunday, according to Il Mattino.

The Naples-based paper reports that De Laurentiis still trusts the coach, but the two parties want to fully understand the reasons behind recent poor performances.

Il Mattino reports that a meeting will take place this week, either on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Matteo Moretto confirms that the two parties will meet at some point this week ‘to understand how and whether to go ahead together’ and to ‘analyse every aspect of this delicate moment in detail.’

According to Il Mattino, it’s unlikely that Conte will resign, but at the same time, he wants to fully feel in control of the team like in the previous campaign.
