Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Borussia Dortmund is among the clubs interested in 1.FC Union Berlin's Diogo Leite.
BVB is monitoring the situation with an eye toward June, when Leite will be eligible to transfer on a free transfer.
This makes sense, as the centre-half who has played for Union since 2022, has proven he possesses the qualities for the Bundesliga.
Leite would also be ideally suited as a backup or successor to Nico Schlotterbeck depending on the latter's next step in his career.
So far, BVB's interest remains purely theoretical. On the other hand, it would be almost negligent not to at least have the player on their shortlist.
In the January transfer window, Leite looked set to move to Serie A side Lazio, but the transfer ultimately collapsed.
Meanwhile, 24-year-old Ramon Hendriks from VfB Stuttgart is also on the Westphalian club's shortlist for next summer.
