Union Berlin confirm Aebischer arrival | OneFootball

Michel Aebischer has officially joined 1. FC Union Berlin, who announced the signing of the Swiss international from Pisa on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old versatile midfielder has made the switch to the German capital club on a permanent deal.

“Union are a club with a clear identity and special values. In conversations with the decision-makers, I quickly felt how important cohesion and team spirit are here," said Aebischer.

"After my experiences in Switzerland and Italy, I am now looking forward to the Bundesliga and to contributing my experiences here. I want to take on responsibility both on and off the pitch and experience a successful time together with the team.”

Union Berlin managing director of professional football Horst Heldt expressed his delight at Aebischer’s arrival.

“Michel is a very intelligent and versatile midfielder who has consistently delivered his performances at a high level for many years. He brings international experience, leadership qualities, and a high tactical discipline. With his style of play, he gives a team balance and stability, while also having the quality to set his own accents going forward. We are very pleased that he is joining us," he said.
