Unión opposition seeks urgent intervention by audit committee amid bounced cheques claims | OneFootball

Encuentro Unionista has asked the club’s Audit Committee to intervene urgently and exercise its oversight powers. According to Radiogol.com, the filing targets Unión’s institutional and financial management.

The request, entered as No 433401 at 8.45, followed the board’s failure to answer an initial information plea lodged on 22 July.

Citing Central Bank records, the submission says Unión has 44 bounced cheques worth $700,067,887.83, of which $61,935,066.94, or 8.85%, has been paid or regularised. A further 21 cheques were reportedly rejected for insufficient funds between 25 and 27 August, taking the total from $658.3 million in July to above $700 million.

The documents also note total financial-system debt of $1,840,315,000 as of July 2026, and that Banco Macro has classified the club as Situation 2, under special monitoring.

The group asks auditors to establish whether any payments, withdrawals, advances, reimbursements, per diems, fees, compensations or loans were made to the president or other directors. It seeks supporting paperwork and cross-checks against the club’s minute books.

It further questions an alleged failure to publish the Quarterly Cash Balance required by article 65, section g of the Statute. The committee is given 10 calendar days to issue a formal response on its actions.
