Arne Slot simply has to go and there could be a surprise choice to replace him at Liverpool.
Tottenham was the latest indictment of a truly terrible season for the Reds. Not only a season but a year of football really. Slot's style of play was never really entertaining.
However, at least in the beginning it got results. Now, that the results are not coming, the games are becoming harder to watch.
Less Liverpool fans are tuning into the matches week in, week out. Some fans are even considering not attending games at Anfield because the performances have been so bad, and you can't blame them.
Ultimately, football is a game of entertainment. Big corporations might have turned it into a business of results and ultimately that is what will cost Slot's job, but the bigger indictment is the lack of excitement.
Which is so ironic because Liverpool have a lot of exciting players and their summer business should have been full of excitement.
So, Slot has to go. Liverpool need someone who can turn things around and if he losses against Galatasaray on Wednesday night, then it will be all over for him.
There will be no coming back from that result.
Slot cannot survive something as appalling as going out to the Turkish side. Although, losing heavily against Paris Saint Germain, who would rip Liverpool to shreds would probably be more embarrassing.
The likelihood remains that Liverpool won't hire a permanent manager if Slot has to go. Until the end of the season, it will either be Slot or someone coming in as an interim.
Steven Gerrard will be a candidate for that interim role. However, a surprise choice could be someone who is already employed by the club and working in the shadows.
Someone who has quietly done an excellent job at Liverpool since being appointed.
Rob Page took over Liverpool's U21 side at the start of this season, and since then the has improved tremendously at this level.
The former Wales international manager, has given a new lease of life to the likes of Kieran Morrison and has made Liverpool into a dominant force.
Last season, Liverpool were struggling in Premier League 2 but this time around the Reds have been brilliant and they are currently third on the table having not lost a game since November.
In that period they have scored an incredible amount of goals and have played really entertaining football.
They've defeated Arsenal 7-0, recently thrashed Wolves 5-0 and are definitely more entertaining than the first-team right now.
With such impressive work, and also experience at senior level in the past, Page will and absolutely deserves to be a surprise candidate to replace Slot, if he is fired before the end of the season.
And who knows, Page may just be willing to give some of Liverpool's talented youngsters more chances on the pitch, too, if he is appointed.
